ISKCON Asansol

About ISKCON Asansol

A spiritual sanctuary dedicated to spreading the message of love, peace, and devotion through the timeless wisdom of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.

Our Mission

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was founded by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1966 with the mission to propagate the science of Krishna consciousness throughout the world. ISKCON Asansol is part of this global movement, serving the spiritual needs of the local community.

Our mission is to create a spiritual oasis where individuals and families can explore the timeless wisdom of Vedic literature, practice devotional service, and experience the joy of spiritual life. We strive to build a community based on love, compassion, and service to humanity.

Through regular kirtans, lectures, festivals, and community outreach programs, we aim to inspire people to lead a life of purpose, peace, and spiritual fulfillment.

History & Heritage

The ISKCON movement began in 1966 when Srila Prabhupada, a 70-year-old Indian scholar, arrived in New York City with the mission to share the teachings of Krishna consciousness. From a small storefront in Manhattan, the movement has grown into a global phenomenon with hundreds of temples and millions of followers worldwide.

ISKCON Asansol was established to serve the spiritual community in Asansol and surrounding areas. Our temple provides a place for devotees to gather, worship, and deepen their spiritual understanding through the practice of bhakti yoga.

The temple follows the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, which emphasizes the worship of Lord Krishna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the practice of devotional service as the means to achieve love of God.
